INITIATIVES
Safe and affordable living options.

Working with residents, local governments, developers and financial institutions as part of the city’s comprehensive plan is a first step to ensure safe and affordable living options throughout our communities.
Experience:
-
Solidified relationships with local businesses, PHFA and lending institutions to promote the need to have a balance of housing stock as the city is revitalized.
-
Assisted nonprofits with technical assistance as they worked to develop transitional housing for aging out youth and displaced residents.
-
Reviewed local, state and federal legislation while advocating for residents of S. 14th Street impacted by sinkholes to be relocated safely and fairly.
-
Former President for Habitat for Humanity.
Inclusive social and economic development opportunities.

Create and maintain spaces within the community providing opportunities for residents to be informed timely and feel empowered to be active decision makers as the city continues to grow through its social programs, philanthropy and physical development of land.
Experience:
-
As a founding member and President of the Pa Diversity Coalition, I engaged lending institutions on behalf of members and non members for equitable releasing of Covid Relief and PPP resources to ensure a true banking relationship existed when many of our residents were viewed as depositors only.
-
As a member of Impact Harrisburg resources were utilized to assist with stabilizing local small businesses to minimize closures and unemployment rates during the Pandemic; while also renovating and building structures.
-
Formulated the concept of the Harrisburg Partnership Program unifying efforts of the City, HACC, HBGSD and the Housing Authority focused on transitioning families from traditional public housing units, to voucher sites, to homeownership; while completing transferable skills classes.
The enhancement of the regional workforce pipeline through collaboration.

Having established relationships within the Harrisburg School District, County, Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC, State Agencies, and the Nonprofit Communities, presenting residents with opportunities to remain gainfully employed will become normalized.
Experience:
I am engaged with the statewide workforce training program initiative geared at creating 10k new jobs by 2027, Center for Independent Living and the African American Chamber for PA, NJ & DE to ensure wherever public dollars are being spent ALL Harrisburg residents have an opportunity to enhance their quality of life.
